Primary School Message regarding online platforms

We are all experiencing the profound effects the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is having on every aspect of our lives. Our thoughts are with those across Queensland and Australia who have a loved one with the virus and those families whose livelihoods have been dramatically impacted by this global health crisis.

Given the current circumstances around COVID-19 and the implications for schools, as we begin to prepare for the possibility of most students learning at home, our teachers are trying their best to prepare and plan to deliver curriculum through online platforms. Our dedicated teachers will support our students and keep them engaged, motivated and learning.
We do not know how Term 2 will unfold.  We may face the long term closure. It seems one of the few certainties during these uncertain times is that In shaa Allah, online teaching will replace face to face teaching at our College. Please note below the Primary School Plan in case of unexpected school closures and we move onto online/remote learning:

We will be commencing our online learning units from Monday, 20th April.

School timings

From 20th April to 22nd May – 8:30 am to 2:10 pm (Ramadan)
From 25th May to 22nd June – 8:30 am to 3:10 pm

  • The learning platforms that Primary school will be using are SEESAW (Prep – Yr 2) and Microsoft Teams (Yr 3-6). These platforms will allow us to connect students, teachers and families online as we work together to support learning.
  • The information about the log in details of the above platforms are available on our website. Each teacher will send the username and password for their students.
  • Each teacher will send their class timetable to their students and lessons will be carried out accordingly whenever possible.
  • Guidelines for families and students regarding ICB network are available on our website.
  • Parents can contact their child’s teachers through emails during school hours if they have any questions/queries.

Wishing you and your family the blessings of Ramadan!
Regards, wasalaam,
Mrs Ashraf
