A decision has been made that the college will continue to operate as normal and we will continue to follow the guidelines from Qld Health, Dept of Education and Training (DET), Independent Schools of Qld (ISQ) and to take advice from our Islamic community leaders with regards to all safety measures for the College.

School nurse advices staff infection control

  • Encourage parents to isolate sick children (at home)
  • Do not accept them in the classroom (no matter how persuasive the parent or child can be)
  • Send sick students to be screened at the health centre to keep our community safe and healthy.
What is ICB doing?
  • We have established a Coronavirus Health Action Team (CHAT) and developed a College Pandemic Plan. Our response is adaptable and will change in response to the situation
  • We are monitoring the changing conditions and relying on Queensland and Australian Government Health organisations to give us instructions and advice
  • We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding illness within our working environment and that includes students, staff and parents within our community. If you or a student are sick with flu like symptoms you or the student must stay home until recovered
  • If you have been traveling or been in contact with an 'at risk' traveller, we expect that you will self-isolate and follow bio-security measures- Please notify our Health Action Team ASAP- use the contact form below or call the College nurse
  • The College is expecting notifications from staff and families of any possible, probable or confirmed contact with coronavirus. Contact our Health Action Team immediately
  • The Health Action Team and Heads of School are also assessing the potential risks for all events, excursions, incursions and activities. This will be assessed individually and any alterations to schedules will be managed under advisement from health advisers and organisations. Communication of any changes will be from the Classroom teacher.
How are we preparing?
Additional cleaning of all facilities and public areas with suitable antiviral cleaner
