Academics and a sense of community grounded in Islamic values
Let me introduce myself. My name is Sami Muamar and I feel privileged to be the Head of the Secondary School at the Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB). I’ve been working at this school for 10 years, and for the past three years, I’ve been leading the secondary department.
ICB is very special to me, not only because of its academic excellence but also because of the values we uphold. As a practising Muslim, I’m proud to represent a school that aims to create responsible and respectful individuals in society.
Inspiring a love of learning
My goal is to inspire our students to love learning throughout their lives. I believe that education should be an exciting journey that equips students with the skills and knowledge they need in our modern world. To achieve this, I create lessons that are not only challenging but also interesting and relevant to our student’s lives.
I use real-life examples, technology, and interactive teaching methods to make learning meaningful for each student. I encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, so our students become lifelong learners.
A supportive and inclusive environment
As the Head of Secondary School, my role involves more than managing the department’s daily operations. I also focus on building strong, collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff. I value everyone’s opinions to create a supportive and inclusive learning community.
As a school, we’re committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where students can excel academically, socially, and emotionally.
I’m excited about the future of education at ICB and I look forward to working to shape the minds and hearts of our students.
We will continue to uphold the values that make ICB a school that emphasises academic achievement, Islamic principles, and community involvement.
I look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful community. Sami Muamar
