Colleen Feaunati is an experienced HR leader with a strong background across education and the not-for-profit sector in Australia and New Zealand. As Head of Human Resources at the Islamic College of Brisbane, she leads the strategic and operational delivery of HR, partnering with senior leadership to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven workplace.
Prior to joining the College in 2023, Colleen worked in People and Culture at Canterbury College, where she partnered with leadership across administrative and operational portfolios to deliver key HR initiatives and strengthen organisational capability within an independent school environment. She was also heavily involved in whole-of-college operations, supporting key school functions including student attendance, wellbeing, and events. Working closely with teachers, educational leaders, and cross-functional departments, she contributed to the effective coordination and delivery of day-to-day college operations.
Her earlier career includes extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector, leading projects and managing people-focused initiatives that enhanced organisational capability and service delivery. She also brings international experience from New Zealand, where she worked across not-for-profit organisations, property, and tertiary education, including the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand within Academic Registry and Enrolments. These roles provided a strong foundation in corporate services, supporting operational functions across HR, administration, marketing, and finance.
Colleen is known for her collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with expertise across the full employee lifecycle. She is passionate about building strong workplace cultures, developing people, and supporting leadership to achieve meaningful outcomes.
